Thanks from Pat Loring

Below is an email we received from Pat Loring.

Hi Susan,

Your 4-H Club members were terrific on Saturday and they obviously impressed the Clipper editor with their knowledge. Please extend our thanks to all the kids who were at the farm for Farm Day. As always, they were a highlight of the day with their dairy knowledge and farm skills. Also, the location of your tables near the barn, was perfect. In fact, next year I plan to spread out all the tables, so we're not all clustered under the trees. Thanks very much for adding so much to Farm Day and for organizing your kids. Everyone thought the day was a huge success.

Beach Cleanup - Saturday, Oct. 2nd

The Plymouth Harbor cleanup, part of the annual international coastal cleanup is planned for Saturday, October 2.  The East Middleboro Nature's Navigators are taking the lead role, and invite all area clubs and other volunteers to help out.  We are responsible for the area from Plymouth Rock to the end of the jetty along with Nelson Beach.  We need lots of volunteers to cover this extensive area.

We will meet at 10 AM at either of two locations: near the restrooms at the Mayflower and the parking lot at Nelson Beach. After check-in, teams are expected to collect trash for about one hour.  Data sheets will be turned in and trash bags will be weighed at locations near where the teams are working.

Volunteers are needed for this year's annual farm day.  If you are able to attend, please email us which shift you would like to sign up for.  If you have already signed up for shifts with Sue Schortman, please email us the times so we can have one complete schedule.  The schedule will be updated nightly and posted on the blog.  Parents are welcome to stay.

Everyone must wear a 4H shirt.

Available Shifts:

·        9 – 12:30

·        11:00 – 2:30

·        12 – 3:30

We would like to have a bake sale table.  We would appreciate it if each 4Her could contribute by bringing a baked good.  We are thinking individual bagged items (one large or a few regular size): cookies, brownies, candy pops, etc. that will be priced for $0.50.

It should be a fun day and we looking forward to it.
